The Gallery is a spacious, private house with three bedrooms and two bathrooms that has been decorated in an unique style, where simple mid-century lines complement the original art on the walls. The house nestles in a landscaped garden, and there is a spacious, circular fire pit in the garden with stunning views overlooking the valley and across Albert Falls Dam.
There are 3 bedrooms, two with queen-sized beds and one with a single bed. The house has an open plan kitchen, dining room and lounge that opens onto an east-facing patio that enjoys stunning sunrise and evening views over Albert Falls Dam. There is comfortable patio furniture that includes a hanging chair for those lazy times of conversation or enjoying a book with a cup of coffee. The patio steps down to a large firepit where guests can sit around an outdoor fire (wood is provided) while waiting for their meal to cook in the outside portable kettle braai (BBQ). Rustic wooden seating surrounds the firepit and blankets are provided for chilly nights. There is also a west-facing shaded patio with a large table and benches, made by your host, Richard, to enjoy an evening meal while catching the last rays of sunlight.
The kitchen and dining room are amply equipped with all the modern appliances needed for preparing food, eating, making coffee, and for cleaning. The lounge has comfortable couches and chairs surrounding a fireplace supplied with abundant wood to ensure that you can cuddle cosily if it is a chilly Hilton night.
The spacious main bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with a generous-sized spa bath and separate shower. The second bedroom also has an ensuite bathroom with a shower, while the third bedroom will access either of the bathrooms off the other two bedrooms.
The use of space and all the décor reflect the artistic creativity of Shelagh, who is an amateur
artist, and she has painted a mural on one of the walls in the lounge.
The Gallery is a well-appointed 5-sleeper cottage with facilities to comfortably accommodate 5 adults. Here’s a non-exhaustive list of the various amenities available for guests:

Check-in is from 14h00 and Check-out is at 10h00. Please note: Early check-in’s or check- out’s are subject to availability. Please contact us directly to find out if it is a possibility.
CLEANING & SERVICING
The Studio is cleaned thoroughly before each booking. The cottage is NOT serviced daily, but should you desire servicing during your stay, please contact us, and we will arrangement it for you (except on Sundays). The costs of servicing will be additional to your accommodation costs.
PETS
We are a pet-friendly establishment. A once-off pet cleaning fee is charged per stay. We ask that pets don’t sit or sleep on any of the furniture.
NON-SMOKING POLICY
The Studio has a strict non-smoking policy for inside the cottage. Please do not smoke inside the cottage, but feel free to smoke outside.
NOISE RESTRICTIONS, PARTIES & EVENTS
The Aloes Farm cottages are strictly NOT a venue for parties and events. Fireworks are forbidden as we are part of the Umgenyane Conservancy. Our area is renowned for its peaceful surrounds, so we kindly ask that you be considerate after 22h00 with outside dining, music, and general noise.
TRANSPORT
Please note that we do not offer guest transport. Uber & Bolt e-hailing services are available in our area but can be unpredictable. However, we can recommend a couple of reliable local taxi company should guests require transport.
WORKING FARM
The Aloes Farm is a working farm and there are activities during the day that may make an occasional noise (tractors, staff loading things from the sheds, maintenance teams improving our facilities, etc.). There are also other families living on the farm and surrounds who also have ‘normal’ lives that involve children, dogs, and friendships. If you are finding a noise is disrupting your stay, please contact your host.
LOST & FOUND ITEMS
We kindly ask that you do a thorough room-check before departing. However, if our housekeeping team find you have left a personal item behind, they will take it to the office for safekeeping. You will then be contacted by your host and you can make arrangements to collect it at your convenience, or by courier (at your cost).
BOOKING AND CANCELLATION, aND REFUND POLICY
A 50% deposit is required to secure your booking, with the balance due seven days prior to check-in. If your booking is within seven days of arrival, then the full amount is payable upon booking.
If you need to cancel your booking, we offer the following refunds:
- A full refund if you cancel with more than 14 days from expected arrival.
- A 50% refund if you cancel with more than seven days from expected arrival.
If you cancel within seven days of expected arrival, we do not offer a refund, but we will re-open the booking and try to re-sell the days. If we are successful, we may be able to offer at least a part refund.
